patient. However, if you are diabetic we do prefer to dilate your eyes.
Do I have to make an appointment to see the doctor or do you accept walk-ins?
We encourage you to make an appointment as our doctors are only here on certain
days of the week.
When I call, how long will it be before I can get in for an appointment?
Usually we can get you in for an exam within a week.
Do your doctors check for cataracts and glaucoma? Yes.

Echo and Bella Italia to name a few.
Can I get the thinner lenses? Yes.
What is your turn around for lenses? Depending on the type of lens and
the prescription anywhere from one to eight days.
What does your contact eye exam include? Our contact exam includes an
eye exam for glasses, glaucoma check, cataract check, measurements of the eye
for fit of the contact, a free pair of trial contact lenses, teaching of
insertion , cleaning and removing of contacts. You also receive a care kit
and a recheck on the fit after 2-3 weeks after dispensing.
Will you file a claim with my insurance company? Yes, however it is
recommended that you call your insurance company and find out who is on your
provider list or if you have coverage out of network.
I have just had cataract surgery. Will Medicare cover some of the cost of my
first pair of glasses after surgery? Yes, Medicare covers a certain
percentage of the lenses and the frames. If you have a supplement, the
supplement will usually pick up the rest.
Do you submit to Medicare? Yes. We are a non-participating provider, so we
require payment from the patient at the time of the dispensing. We will submit
your claim and the check from Medicare and your supplement will be mailed
directly to you.
Do you have guarantees on your glasses? Yes. We guarantee our scratch
resistant lenses for one year (normal wear). Keep in mind that scratch resistant
lenses are just that...resistant. They are not scratch proof. As the purchaser
you have to follow the directions that we give you for the care of your lenses.
They must be cleaned "wet" and dried with a soft cloth...NO PAPER PRODUCTS! If
you drop your lenses on a cement driveway and the slide down the cement, they
will scratch. Our frames are guaranteed (normal wear), from one year to three
years depending on the manufacturer. When a frame on our board is discontinued
we put it on our close-out board for half price. These frames are not warranted.
Do you repair broken frames? Yes. We can put on nose pads and replace
broken temples. In most cases we can find a frame to fit your existing
lenses. We cannot solder metal frames. When a metal frame needs to
be soldered, it MUST be soldered with silver solder and not lead solder.
There are numerous Optical companies in Rockford that will solder you frames
with lead, however lead soldering is very soft and usually last a couple of
weeks. Some jewelry stores are able to silver solder your broken metal
frames.
We are one of the few optical company that offers repairs on broken hinges on
plastic frames. The charge is only ten dollars and is a lot cheaper
than having to buy a completely new frame.
What do you charge to adjust glasses or replace screws? We do not
charge for this service, even if you did not purchase the glasses at our office.
Do you make Industrial safety glasses. Yes, and we have a good
selection of safety frames (OSHA approved). We supply many companies in
Rockford with safety glasses. Testor Corporation, Woodward Governor,
Arntzen, Rockford Spring and many others use our safety program.
